Hi! It's me, Melissa! You know, the long lost person who's blog you read occasionally?

Well I'm back.

I have decided that I should probably update this thing.

Although, I don't have time to post pictures right now which is lame, I'll still give the 'low down' on what's happening right now.

I wrecked our beauty of a car. :(

Logan had his 26th birthday, but that was in March so that is WAAAY old news.

I'll post pics of that later.

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary! (again, pics later)

We had our fare share of adventures this summer

(Lake Powell, Boise, Dave Matthews Band concert, & Lagoon).

Logan got his MCAT scores back (which were awesome) and now he's applying for med school. I'm still working while he's trying to find a job and HOPEFULLY we will be able to move to Idaho Falls VERY SOON.

Whew!

Things are going very well for the Miller clan lately. I finally got a great job! I work at Center for Sight in Idaho Falls as a receptionist. It's GREAT! And we have 1/2 day Fridays! Woot! Logan is getting his little vaca. from school (he's loving it). We have a VERY clean apartment and the spider population in our home has gone down considerably (phew!). Oh and did I mention KAYLEE is home!? (We love her).

Well there has been a lot going on lately, a lot of family reunions, the 4th of July, I'm STILL looking for a job, and many more life changing experiences that I have been blessed to be around for.

What I've learned from all the recent happenings of life is that life is short, special, and meaningful. I've learned that we really forget how short of a time we have on this earth and we should cherish every moment we have with our loved ones. I've learned that our Heavenly Father has a purpose for each and every one of his actions and just as quickly as he can take a life away, he can give us another one. I've also learned that it is important to not be selfish and to always think of others. We are here on earth for a reason and we need to make each day special. One of my goals right now is to be more giving. I think there are a lot of times that I think about doing some sort of service and then I stop and think, "Well I probably shouldn't because they don't want me to bother them, or I have too much to do". It's better to do at least one nice thing for someone else during your day than to just think of yourself and of everything that you have to accomplish.

I love my husband, my family, and my friends and I'm so glad that I have them in my life!

So we haven't had internet for a little over 2 months.... SO LAME! That's why I haven't done anything with this dang blog.....SORRY!

Here's a little update.....Logan's in school---doing an A++ job, I'm at home---doing an F-- job! (JK, I just hate looking for jobs, but I LOVE being able to catch up on everything else!)

Fernando swims in his bowl all day and is getting really good at following my finger across the fish bowl.

Logan and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary!! Seems like we were married about two weeks ago instead! We went to see Star Trek that day.... LOVED IT!

Last but not least.....Many little spiders have decided that they want to move in with us......I don't want them to...

I'm finally done with school! No more crying and stressing and studying and bs'ing... I'M DONE! Whew! Graduation was so awesome! I loved having my family there to watch me graduate. It's still kind of weird to think that I won't have to go back to school anymore. Holy Cow! But now it's on to job hunting....BLAH! Job hunting takes so much time and so much energy and when you get rejected, you feel like the scum of the earth. But I found a quote by Diane Von Furstenberg that lifts my spirits every time I read it. It goes "You always have to eat humble pie at some point...every rejection is the fuel for what you will be." What a positive way of looking at rejection! It really does teach you and help you grow. Hopefully I wont have to be taught too much during this life draining job hunt!

An April Fools to Remember

Since it's around April fools day--- or 3 days after, I remembered a trick that my friend Aubrey and I played on two of our friends during our freshman year at BYU-I. Well this is how it all started. One of Aubrey's friends went to an Asian wedding where they were serving things such as a chicken claw and something like a bird's top half of a head with the beak still on. He took a few of them and brought them to Aubrey intending to gross her out. It did gross us out but I had an idea. First, we decided to pull a little prank on our friend Kyra. She loves peeps so we bought a package of yellow peeps, carefully opened it and stuck the top half of the bird head in the package replacing one of the peeps. A label was over the head a little so you couldn't really see it until you looked really close. Ok, so we gave the box of peeps to Kyra and she was so happy. She said that we were such good friends and that she loved peeps. She didn't see the head until she had eaten probably two of them. We weren't there unfortunately to see her reaction but let me tell you she was soooooo mad! Don't worry she laughed about it later.

Next prank was to our friend Kaylee. Here's what we did. We got a cute little box and put the chicken's claw in it. We wrote a note that said this: Kaylee, We hope you have a stress-free time during finals and we just wanted to let you know that if you ever need a HAND with anything you can always call us. Love, Your Visiting Teachers. (notice the HAND part?? :)) Anyway, we put it in her bed and her roommate told us that she got in bed and didn't see it so it knocked over in her bed and the claw fell out and she started screaming and threw it on the ground. She then cried a lot. We felt really bad but also, wasn't that a really great prank?!

Logan turned 25 on March 4th. Holy cow he's old! :)

I, love birthdays so I tried to make this one as special as possible for him..
First of all, he did get a playstation for his b-day, I also got him some nice pants he's been needing and now he thinks he's such a hottie in them (it's true).
We celebrated first at Logan's parent's home (it was also Reed's birthday, Happy 19th Reed!), we ate cake and ice cream, partied, the usual...
On Wed. Logan and I went out to eat at Red Robin (one of our fav's). I also decorated our apartment for him and surprised him with a yummy Coco Bean cupcake, balloons, and the movie Patch Adams (he's gonna be a doctor so I thought it was appropriate).
On Fri. we went out with my family to go see a movie (Mall Cop) and have even MORE ice cream!
And on Sat., his last day of celebrating, he had a much needed X-BOX party.
I hope it was a fantabulous week Logan and Happy 25th! Love you!

What a crazy few weeks its been! First off, I had the Interior Design senior show in Feb.

It was fabulous....we all dressed up and admired all the work that us wonderful seniors have been doing these past four years. Even though I really didn't have much in the show (just a few projects), I was still really proud of myself. Four years is a lot of work and a LOT of CRYING! What a stressful major this has been, I never would have guessed. Going to college and taking classes can really make you forget why you went into that major in the first place, the senior show kind of reminded me why I did this. I LOVE interior design. It really is a passion of mine and I'm so glad that I stuck with it for this long. I also really loved sharing that moment with my family. I am so lucky to have people who love me so much come and support me.

Dave's album isn't coming out until June 2. How sad! June 2nd? That is sooooooooooooo far away! But despite all the sadness and gloom about his album, (which was finally named by the way, Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King ) I am so excited to say that he is coming to the USANA Amphitheatre on September 1st! I am sooooooooooo there.

"Love Day"

So the reason why I titled this entry "Love Day" is because I've heard tons of guys say that Valentines Day is just a dumb "Love Day". I think it's really funny that Valentines Day is pretty much just for the ladies. I do feel it is important however, to let your husband know that you LOVE them too so I usually get Logan something or do something for him like write a letter. This Valentines Day was a little different. We both didn't get each other anything. I really didn't care, all I wanted was a whole day to spend with Logan where we had fun and did whatever we wanted. Logan isn't one of those guys who doesn't understand why Valentines Day is important, thankfully. He came up with the idea that we were going to get Chinese food (what we ate on the night he proposed Feb. 14th 2007) and watch any movie that I wanted. I loved the idea, it's probably one of my most favorite things to do with him. We started off the day with a full-on scour of the apartment. Since I am at school all day its really hard for me to keep the apartment really tidy. Then we proceeded to go to Idaho Falls and just goof off. I had a coupon for Texas Roadhouse for a free appetizer but it expired on the 10th, we decided to see if they'd let us get one anyway. They did. We got a bloomin onion or an awesome blossim or whatever its called. I've never had one before so it was a first for me. Man that thing is extremely greasy and fattening! The rest of the night we ate our Chinese and chocolate dipped strawberries and watched "Ghost Town". It was a PERFECT day. SIMPLE, FUN, and RELAXING. I LOVE my husband!

This semester has been crazy! I didn't think I would be working so hard during my last semester in school. Logan has been working really hard too. He basically studies every day from about 9-5 with his study partner, Jon. Here's the two of them hard at work.

So I've been really thinking about it and I only have two more months before I graduate! What am I going to do after that?! Holy cow, I have to look for a REAL JOB now. Right now I'm putting together my portfolio so I can start contacting people around here. I don't exactly care what my first job is right now especially since I might not be able to be picky. I love hospitality, health care, and commercial design! I really would love to get a job doing those. I do like residential quite a bit too but I see myself ending up in a bigger design or architectural firm. I also would love to start my own jewelry business. I haven't really been able to do much with that so far because of school but hopefully I'll be able to do more with it after I graduate. Who knows what is going to happen but for now I just have to worry about the question, where do I look and who needs an interior designer during the condition the economy is in right now?! This is going to be hard.

Yes I'm 22 now. Holy cow I feel so old! I know some of you want to strangle me for saying that but this is the first birthday where I've actually felt like I'm getting older. It's like I woke up one day and went from the age of 16 to 22! I've lost 6 years of my life! Ahh! If I'm freaking out this bad now then I'm scared for my 30th birthday! But if you take away all the over-reacting about my age, I did have a really good birthday. First of all Logan was so great to me, he got me some nice new jeans and a cute shirt and took me to the Olive Garden. Sooooo yummy! He then bought me one of my favorite movies, Baby Mama. If you haven't seen it, you should, it is hilarious! Also, I have to say that my birthdays tend to go on for a while. This birthday went from Thursday to Sunday. What can I say? I just think birthdays are special and you should party hard! On Friday Logan and I were just bumming around, doing nothing until he said "I know what we can do tonight but it's a surprise and you'll have to close your eyes until we get there." I finally opened my eyes and we were in the bowling alley and then my whole family jumped out and yelled surprise! It was so funny! They had a table set up with pizza and cupcakes. I loved it! I felt like I was 8 years old again. The guy at the bowling alley even announced my birthday when I was up to bowl,, pretty embarrassing but I still loved it. It was also my dad's first time bowling ever and he won on his team. I was very proud. Oh and I forgot to mention my score of 125 which won 1st place on my team! I had no idea I could bowl that well. On Saturday I continued my birthday by going to see Bride Wars with Logan's mom and sister. It is a really funny movie! The last thing we did for my birthday was go eat at my parents on Sunday. My mom made orange chicken (LOVE) and then my grandma gave me a very cute betta fish! Logan and I pondered for a long time on what we were going to name him and we finally came up with the best name.....Fransisco! We love our new member of the family. Awwe... birthdays are so wonderful!

Logan and I had a great Christmas this year! We started it off with a visit to his parents house on Christmas Eve. We hung out there till it was time to go to his grandma's house. It's a tradition that every year they go to grandma Miller's house to open a Christmas present on Christmas Eve. We had a lot of fun and got to see a lot of relatives. Our Christmas Eve present was a really nice throw for our living room, its gorgeous. After that we went back to Logan's house to watch his mom open her present from us. We gave her a fake fendi spy bag with a giraffe pattern on it. I have a bag just like it except its zebra print and I love it! We then ventured off ten minutes away to my mom and dad's house and spent Christmas day with them. I was so excited to sleep over because we stayed at the Miller's home last year. Of coarse Logan and I couldn't sleep because we were so excited. Both of us are the super excited Christmas freaks in both of our families so we both had to get up at six and I woke up Eric and my parents. Logan got me a cool new Canon camera. I absolutely love it and have been taking tons of pictures with it. It's a funny story because on Christmas Eve my camera broke and I was so disappointed. Little did I know, Logan was planning to give me a new one the next day! Logan and I got some clothes, a gps for our car (really cool) and many other things that we loved.

I gave Logan a coat that he was so excited about. He already knew he was getting it but he was still so excited to get it on Christmas. One of my favorite things about this Christmas was that my brothers and I all went in on presents for my mom and dad. We got my mom a really pretty and very huge clock and we got my dad a really nice briefcase. I loved watching them open their presents.

Even though its so much fun to get things on Christmas, my absolute favorite thing of all is to be with family. Logan and I are so blessed to be by both families so we can see everyone during the holidays.

Yay! We're done with our 7th semester! It feels so good to be done with this semester. We did so much hard work but it will all pay off in the end. And I'm so proud to say that Logan got straight A's this semester and that includes a 98% in his Anatomy class. He's such a smarty pants! I'm going to graduate in April and then hopefully get a job around here while Logan finishes up school and graduates in the summer. He has the winter off (lucky) but he still is going to be working hard studying for the MCAT. I know he's going to do great! We're kind of scared to grow up but it sure is fun to have someone with you all along the way! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have Logan at home to comfort me when I'm stressed out and crying about school. He's the best!

Ok, I have a little confession to make. I can get obsessed with television shows quite easily.

I've loved F*R*I*E*N*D*S forever,

Logan and I have followed The Office ever since it started,

and now we're on to something new. We just barely started watching Heroes thanks to our access to Netflix on the XBOX. We are obsessed! I'm kind of embarrassed about it but really, I can't help but keep wondering what is going to happen next!

Too good to be true...

So it is the end of our amazing Thanksgiving break. I'm pretty bummed but it had to end sometime. We had so much fun this last week! We were supposed to spend Thanksgiving with Logan's family but they were invited to Utah for Thanksgiving and I couldn't get work off on Black Friday so we stayed with my family. It was a lot of fun though! Eric, Sean, Jessi, Mom, Dad, Nanny, and Jessi's mom and dad were there. The food was really good and it was fun to play games with everyone! I love being with family!

Logan and I decided that we wanted to take a little vacation so we had our friends Brandon and Natalie come with us and we stayed in Salt Lake overnight.

We went to Body World first, it was really cool! Basically, people donate their body to this anatomist (I think that's how you spell it) and he plasticises them and displays them so you can see like their muscles, bones, arteries, organs, etc. It was really educational and it really helps you understand how intricate and amazing your body is. One display was of an obese man and it really made me want to keep fit and take care of my body! It's really interesting to see how things like disease, smoking, over-eating and such can effect your body. Logan loved going because he knew all of the scientific names of everything. He was basically our tour guide. He's so smart!

After that we went to eat at The Pie. It's a really yummy pizza place in SLC by the University. Then Logan and I went to the Jazz game. They played against the Nets and lost. I was soooooo dissapointed but it was fun to go! I love Jazz games! The rest of our trip was just shopping and eating at The Olive Garden. Don't be confused, we didn't shop at the Olive Garden, we just ate :).

What a fun and relaxing week! Now it's time to get back to business and finish the semester. We hate it but then again we're so excited to be finished with this semester and be able to relax during Christmas break!

Halloween!

Ok so I'm a little behind but that's only because I'm such a good student and I focus on my studies so much! HA! Well, for Halloween we didn't really know what we were going to dress up like. At first this was my costume,, "Thumbody" as you would call me. It was a lazy attempt.

Then our friends Brandon and Natalie decided to show us up by dressing up as a hippie and a gangsta.

So we then decided to dress up as nerds. Cute huh?

We all decided to go out and eat at Joe's Diner and then proceeded to eat junk food, watch movies, and play video games until 5 a.m.! I can't believe we stayed up that long! This really was the first time I've stayed up that long since well... probably my freshman year but still, that was a while ago! The next morning we slept in for a while but I always have a hard time sleeping in past 9 so I had to get up. Anyway, we had a lot of fun!

I LOVE Halloween and the Fall. Last night we went to my mom & dad's house and had a "Halloween Party". My mom is funny, she made these crazy deserts, they were pretty cool! We had dinner and then carved some pumpkins. Logan and I had a lot of fun! This was our first pumpkin we have carved together so we were pretty pleased with ourselves. I did the drawing and Logan did the carving. He also added these cool ears that stick out, very ingenious!

That's how long Logan and I have been married. It doesn't even seem like we've been married for even a year! Time goes by so fast. Our wedding was amazing and I loved seeing everyone come all the way to Salt Lake to see us get married. I know it was a little far but we're so glad that all our friends and family traveled for us. I had always wanted to get married in the Salt Lake Temple so it was a very exciting day for me! Well thats not the only reason it was exciting :). Although it was raining on that day I wouldn't have picked another day to be married. Everything went perfect! Our luncheon was so fun and our reception was beautiful. Thank you to everyone for all your help and support!

We went on our honeymoon in Akumal, Mexico at the Grand Oasis Riviera Maya. We loved it! I had never been outside the country before so it was really cool. We went snorkeling and just relaxed on the beach.

Here is a cute picture of the "I love you" that Logan made for me in the sand with a beer cup he found. Awwe.. how sweet. :)

Since then we've been busy with school, work and internships. Logan and I have one more semester to go and then we will graduate and go on to wherever life takes us. Last summer Logan got his internship at BSU in Boise and I got mine at CTA Architects and Engineers, also in Boise. I was very happy we were able to do our internships at the same time and in the same city. We LOVED Boise. That city is so nice, we really enjoyed our 3 months there.

Now we are back at school and just trying to stay alive. It seems like the homework never stops! We'll be so glad when it's over!
